Extinction

2012 Winner David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year

 

For me, art and conservation become more closely connected as each year passes. As we watch one species after another become extinct, it is my belief that wildlife art will play a very important part in the archiving of natural history. I feel the need, more urgently than ever, to record those creatures that we are losing as this alarming rate.

How I wish that our brushes, our hands and the tools or our craft could magic them back to life.... but they cannot, and so I hope that the group Artists Against Extinction can play some small part in helping to preserve what we have left.
