Ze Ze Lai

Ze Ze Lai was born in Hong Kong, she has lived there ever since and received her education there. Her watercolour technique was mostly self-taught and has an affinity in painting wildlife. She paints in a unique and dynamic style, capturing the spirit and personality of her subjects. She has participated many exhibitions, she is a finalist in David Shepard wildlife artist of the year 2014 and 2015.

“As a person living in Hong Kong, a city crowded with people and buildings, I don't have many opportunities to interact with wildlife animals. Their habitats are continually decreasing due to the rapid development of cities around the world. Animals become endangered all the time and people are not aware of it.”

“It is essential to take actions to protect wildlife from extinction. By doing so, we do not only ensure their survival, but also the diversity of the ecosystem. I hope I could raise the awareness of wildlife conservation through my paintings.”
